Special Guest Host: Jenn Freeze! - June 10, 2010

Yes, the very same Jenn Freeze from Thrice Removed. This came soooo close to being a space themed show, but then Jenn bailed on that. I have us covered, but space is a fun one. I should do it again another time.

Punk Rock and cheesy 80s covers - July 15th, 2010

Two weeks week after the very fun Sled Island music festival in Calgary. I wrote an article about it for the Concordian.
Personal highlights:
  • meeting InMediaRes after getting drunk and deciding to ditch Dinosaur Jr. to find their show. I used to listen to them when I was in high school in Melfort. I was posting on a forum ran by a guy out of Vancouver who was friends with them. I warmed to them immediately because they sort of sound like David Bazan if he was in a rock band. Their guitarist was intensely awesome.
  • Nardwar pinata at the Paper Bag Records party
  • seeing other bands that I've liked for years and years and years, Hot Water Music and The Thermals.

The Yarnocalypse (June 3rd)

This week I was responding to a challenge laid out by Jay in the show description he wrote for my show for cfcr's new website. He claims I do shows about things ranging from "bands that start with T to songs about yarn", which is a lie, since I haven't done either of those. The only course of action was, of course, to attempt to do a show about yarn.

(I abandoned the theme about 8 songs in...)
